How this list works
This is the list of civics questions that have a page of their own. Each page puts the answer first. Then it shows the accepted answers on the USCIS 2025 list and the 2008 list.
It explains why the question is asked, and it lets you check yourself once. Use a page when one question is giving you trouble. To practice many questions in a row, use the full practice test.
The questions are grouped the way the USCIS 2025 list groups them: American government, American history, and symbols and holidays.
Inside a group they keep the order of the list. The topic buttons show one topic at a time. If your browser has JavaScript turned off, every question stays on the page.
Not every question has a page. A few questions on the USCIS lists have answers that change with elections. Others depend on where you live, such as the name of an official.
We never write those answers down, because they would soon be wrong, so those questions never get a page. For the capital of your state, use the USA.gov list of states and territories. We add the others a few at a time, starting with the ones people look up most.
Under each question you will see its place on each list. The 2025 list has 128 questions and the 2008 list has 100. When a question is on both lists you see its number on each, because the numbers differ even when the question is the same.
The 2025 list is for people who filed Form N-400 on or after 20 October 2025. The 2008 list is for people who filed before that day. A star means the question is one of the 20 that USCIS marks for the 65/20 special consideration.
Practice many at once

Questions people ask
Why do only some questions have a page?
A page needs its own explanation, so we add them a few at a time. Some questions never get one, because their answers change with elections or with where you live. The full practice test covers every other question.
Which list do these questions come from?
The pages follow the USCIS 2025 list of 128 questions. Each page also says whether the question is on the 2008 list of 100 questions, and what number it has there.
Where do the answers come from?
The accepted answers are the ones USCIS prints on its lists. The explanations, wrong answers and checks are written by EasySay. This is unofficial practice, and it does not replace the USCIS pages.
